Weber County Trails

Lewis Peak

  • Distance: 10.5 miles roudtrip

    Elevation: 3,240 ft gain

    Time: 5 hours

  • Amazing conditions during late spring and summer! This moderate-hard trail takes you up the side of north ogden canyon and then across the rolling hills above the beautiful city. You’ll go uphill in both directions. Flowers and views are outstanding, this is a great peak to bag!

Hidden Valley Trail

  • Distance: 5.15 miles roudtrip

    Elevation: 1,960 ft gain

Time: 2-3 hours (we jogged down)

  • This trail is tougher than it seems! Gaining 1,800 ft in just about two miles it makes for a good workout on a narrow trail. My mom and I hiked up an jogged dow in June 2023 and had a beautiful, dense morning together. Recommended in Spring or Fall-duing the summer this trail will be hot/no water/dead brush everywhere.

Breeze Arch/Sardine Peak

  • Distance: 7.7 miles roundtrip

    Elevation: 1,615 ft gain

    Time: 3-4 hours

  • I hiked to Sardine Peak and stopped by the hidden “breeze” arch on the way down. It’s a short detour off one of the switchbacks below the peak. This trail goes through the beautiful Snowbasin Ski Resort. The initial part of the trail is steady vert climbing and gets steeper RIGHT before the summit. Great views of Pineview Reservoir along the ridge!

Ben Lomond Peak via Cutler Trail

  • Distance: 10 miles roundtrip

    Elevation: 3,570 ft gain

    Time: 5-6 hours

  • This felt like the ‘Timp of the North’ when I hiked it July 2023. Starting in Eden, UT the trail takes you up through gorgeous terrain with incredible views. This is the 2nd highes peak in Weber County. It was muddy and dense in the beginning with lots of shade. Vert climb was steady and there was a lot of water (and snow) along the way. Flowers are AMAZING! Save your energy for the 15 switchbacks right before the peak.

Malans Peak

  • Distance: 4.7 miles roudtrip

    Elevation:

    Time: 2-3 hours

  • This is an Ogden staple, get ready to see someone you know if you frequent this trail! This is a steep workout as you switchback up along the trail gaining elevation quickly. There are awesome views of the city to the west and great views of the bowl-like mountain tops to the east. First mile follows a creek, after that there won’t be any water.

Mt. Ogden via Beus Canyon

  • Distance: 8.15 miles roundtrip

    Elevation: 4,530 ft gain

    Time: 5-6 hours

  • This trail is TOUGH, exposed, and the views are very unique! I saw at least 4 piles of bear scat when I hiked this September 2023, and there was not much water after the first mile so doing this in heated months is not recommended unless you start early. I hit a small peak on the way down to the Needles Gondola to then catch a free ride down to Snowbasin where I enjoyed live music, beers, and a ride from my husband back to my car at the trailhead. :)
